• Introduce outdoor camping to youth with little to no camping experience;

 

• Teach youth and families basic outdoor camping skills to train/lead mentor other youth and families;

 

• Provide families with the opportunity to learn more about Texas Park And Wildlife Department (TPWD) activities.

 

Through multiple campouts at Texas State Parks and other outdoor sites, youth ages 7-17 are immersed in environmental education, campcraft, recreational skills such as mountain biking, archery, backpacking, fishing, and leadership development. 

 

Our 12-month program is comprised of the following two components:

• Outdoor Camp Leadership Training. Youth will be taught basic outdoor camping, leadership, and mentoring skills via private outdoor/indoor camps led by trained and certified B2BC camp staff. This component is comprised of 3 Tier Levels. Each Tier is designed to increase the participant's knowledge and skills. Participants will typically participant in approximately 5 camps over a 12-month period.  This component is restricted to groups with a minimum of two (2) adult chaperones. • Outdoor Camping For Youth and Families. This component will provide youth and families with little to no camping experience an opportunity to explore and experience  events and activities such as outdoor camping, tenting, outdoor cooking, angling and participation in environmental educational programs. This component is typically restricted to 2-3 events per year. Registration is open to the public for these events; however participation is usually restricted to a specific number of participants.
